I notice you have not reported the excellent save for a house fire at 5 Belchester Avenue. Coldstream and Lilydale brigades were quickly on the scene and stopped the fire spreading to adjoining properties.

Bend Prepares For Its Next 20 Years Of Growth

In the last 30 years, the city of Bend has seen has seen its population increase nearly five-fold. But all the while, the city’s Urban Growth Boundary has stayed the same size.

Now that the housing boom has gone bust, Bend is once again looking forward to its next growth spurt.

But as David Nogueras reports, not everybody agrees on  Bend’s future plans.

If you had tried to contact everybody like you said you did, what happened to a letter box drop by you. That way everybody would have had the flyer before you had gone to the papers. Pretty bad that we had to find out that way. I have lived in Coldstream 30 years now and when my kids went to school there were 300 odd children, a doctor, a pharmacy, a petrol station etc. And that was with a lot less people in Coldstream, so how do you reckon that increasing Coldstream will bring that back ???. As somebody said we are an ageing community, so I guess that means no more kids at the school than there is now.

Leave Coldstream as it is the tranquility that you don't get with a big Township.

Comment:  It is never possible to contact everyone and we did not have  the funds to do a mail drop.   

As we have stated a number of times, nothing has been done, nothing has been decided but we have got the community talking, we have got the papers reporting and we have got the politicians involved.

Another Survey

The COLDSTREAM  2020 group have become aware of a letter to all Coldstream residents from Christine Fyffe M.P.  

We welcome the objective of this letter / survey to further find out what the community think about the proposed expansion of the boundaries of the Coldstream township.
