The food parcel drive for Victorian Communities affected by the recent devistating floods continues full-pace at Coldstream.
Coldstream Fire Brigade was sent to the flood areas of
Victoria in April this year as part of a District 13 strike team.
Members spent 3-4 days in Rochester and then Bridgewater assisting with
the cleanup.
At Rochester, members were kept busy washing down peoples' properties, the school grounds and pumping out water from hotel basements and other buildings.
The crew sent to Bridgewater assisted with the cleanup of caravan parks, houses and tennis courts that were inundated by flood waters. The damage at Bridgewater was considerable. The crews certainly earned there tucker at the end of the day.
Coldstream members have followed up this great work with a food drive within their own brigade membership to help bolster food parcels being sent to flood affected areas. This gesture has been very much appreciated by those in the flood areas of Victoria. CFA brigades have another 9 months to go on the food drive projects.

Thanks goes to First Lieutenant Graham Brown for coordinating the brigade food drive.
