Train, tram, coach and bus services across Victoria will be free from first to last service on Christmas Day, Tuesday 25 December, Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said today.
“Public transport is the safe and easy way to visit family and friends for Christmas celebrations,” Mr Mulder said."

Merry Christmas to all...Mr Mulder is correct the Trains are very safe mode of transport thanks to serious ongoing police work. Lilydale Station and the line generally has been clean up of all the trouble makerswho are nowhere to be seen of late. Police are quick to pounce on any problem behaviour. A couple years ago Lilydale Station was a tricky place to go and manny assaults had occurred. So thanks to State Liberal Policy ...the police have been deployed in an important public safety area.
It's a pity the Salvos cant refrain from helping the serious criminals by giving them financial assistance ...next story
The Salvation Army ads on TV suggest there is widespread homelessnes in Australia, but I suggest there is plenty of accommodation around... its just that the many of the homesless just cant live peacefully with other people. So they are continually moving around and claiming the world is against them so they can get financial assistance by deception. These criminals, some recently out of jail for committing serious offences go to the salvos and claim they been kicked out of home and sleeping in their cars or in bus shelters or just come back from interstate etc...the Salvos give them FREE FOOD and FREE MOTEL ACCOMMODATION and try to find them longer term accommodation in Rooming Houses. In many of these cases the Salvos are well aware of their personality disorders but say they cant tell us due to confidentiality laws...HUMBUG My view is if they are aware of any serious issues which could put our other residents in danger they should tell us....yet they hide behind confidentiality or are deliberately deceiving the Rooming House industry to gain a room for their very dangerous clients. We had such an incident last night on Christmas Eve after just one week...police attendance at 4pm SERIOUS domestic dispute, 11pm again, 4.45am amd 6.45am so while the Salvos social worker was enjoying her sleep 12 other people had their night disturbed by the people she wanted to help with housing assistance, when sleeping rough might actually teach them a lesson on how to live peacefully with others...Or did these people just want a free short term holiday away from their friends?
Compliments of all the generous donors who give to charity every year...just to support crimminals in the standard they have become accustomed to.?
And there are thousands of similar cases in the community moving around and many others being released from our many Physiciatric hospitals every week because we get calls from them....TELLING US THEY CANT KEEP THEM COSTS TOO MUCH $1000PW but they cant release them unless they have somewhere to live..but again confidentiality restricts them from telling us if they are potentially criminally insane and a risk to our other tenants. THIS POLICY IS INSANE.
How would the Coroner react if a death was caused because a social worker did not warn us of a risky situation and someone was killed? How do you think the Police deal with these situations every day in the community?
Is CONFIDENTIALITY a good defence? Thats a question I asked the Coroners Court last week.
How often do we read the Coroners Court making suggestions to improve policies to avoid the risk of death, usually after the event but not before the potential event. So we are also sending a copy of this email to every member of parliament in Victoria who might like to consider these matters better when they frame Confidentiality laws.
