Michael Schumacher had a beer or two at Coldstream Brewery the Monday after the Melbourne Grand Prix.



 

Cabinet meeting heads to the hills


THE State Government will hold a community cabinet event in Yarra Ranges next Monday.
The Victorian Government Cabinet, expected to include Premier Ted Baillieu, will meet Yarra Ranges and Cardinia Council, local businesses and community groups.
Kilsyth state Liberal MP David Hodgett said as part of the visit cabinet members would also join a community meeting in Upwey which was an opportunity for residents to be part of discussions regarding the future of their region.

I was invited to attend this BBQ and was well worth it.  I was able to talk with Peter Ryan on the progress of the FSL (Fire Service Levy) and was told that a bill would be presented to sort out the present mess where the FSL is based on your insurance policy will be sorted out within 2 months.

I also spoke with the Planning minister, Mathew Guy who was receptive  to the COLDSTREAM  2020 proposal of expanding Coldstream. He also mentioned the fact that the Coldstream Rail Station had potential in developing the area.

A toast to China's thirst for wine

Helen Xu, co-owner of Chinese clothing and chemical manufacturer Shanghai Salian Industrial & Trade, bought an 80ha vineyard at Coldstream in Victoria's Yarra Valley last year and is midway through her first grape harvest, all of which will be exported to China after being vinified at a local contract winemaking facility.
