I totally agree with the sentiments expressed by Ian Mott in Jim Childs article. Unfortunately, councils appear to have been infiltrated by people who just don’t understand the nature of the Australian bush, and have generally totally lost the plot.
Perhaps it is time to remove the responsibility from municipal councils, of setting guidelines for who or where people can build houses in the bush, and allocate it to a more responsible authority. This authority would need to be made up of appropriate experts, instead of the overabundance of new university graduates that we seem to have currently setting the rules.
