As you may be aware the SYR has banned underage parties at all shire halls. I asked the shire a series of questions in relation to the damage at our community hall.
Below are my questions and answers supplied by Mr Thomas.
2. At the last council meeting (25/08/2009) item 8.5 was passed.
Sitting in the gallery and having read the 3 pages in the agenda I can only assume that most Councillors had some extra information to enable them to come to a decision. If at all possible, could Council reconsider this issue, in light of the majority of our young people doing the right thing but now have been penalised by the minority few?
I would like to know details of all and any incidents at Coldstream Community Centre over the last 3 years, as reviewed by the consultative group.

The former Committee of Management had a practice of not allowing bookings for 18th and under parties. The Shire has continued that practice after taking over management of the hall.

In the previous three years there has been one high risk event, a 21st that passed without
incident. The $500 bond was refunded in full.
3. I would like to know the cost involved in repairs if there were any incidents.
Given the above management practices outlined above no incidents have occurred in the past 3 years at Coldstream.
4. I would like to know how many “deposits” or part deposits were not refunded.
None.
5. Crs Higgins and Avery seem to be aware of other unreported incidents, why were these not in the report?
Not all incidents where police are called are reported to the Shire.
6. Could you please answer these questions for all the centres that have now been barred to teenage parties.

Until I see the full report I am unable to make a suitable comment, HOWEVER, it appears that the Coldstream Community Hall has had NO damage done to it by the youth but the SYR have banned teen parties there.
