The first photo is from the front of the block and it indicates that from the front you can’t see the new house.
The second photo shows that you can just see the house when you look down the driveway.

Try taking a photo from the next door neighbours properties and you'll see the fuss!!!
very true anoymous, it is not the fact of whether you can see the house from the front or not, it is the fact that the neighbouring backyards are losing privacy and gaining a hideous view of a brick wall instead of the beautiful trees and openess of their back yards
Mario, you obviusly have self interest at heart ie selling the wood etc to build the properties. You don't live in Coldstream and obviously don't understand why we live here. So kindly refrain from adding your comments to the debate. IT DOES NOT CONCERN YOU. We live in Coldstream because of the existing character of the place, not over crowded and noisy. Introduce dual cccupancy into this area it will become an unbearable place to live.
Coldstream32, why should Mario stop posting ON HIS OWN SITE?
And how can 10, 20 or even 30 new houses make Coldstream overcrowded and noisy?
I like to think that perhapps with extra occupants living in Coldstream we might actually solve some of the other issues here. For example - the eyesore shopping centre at the entrance to the Gateway that is now full of factories. More students will equal more funding for Coldstream Primary School. I live in Coldstream and have done so for the majority of my life. I have seen shops go under, childcare centres close and it breaks my heart because I know the potential our little town has! I don't think that every single property is going to end up subdivided.. if you don't like the idea, then don't subdivide your own land. Plant more trees around your own fenceline and that will solve any privacy issues. I think that we need to move forward otherwise we are going to get left behind.
T Anonymous, well in that case I hope you end up with a dual occupancy immediately on either side of your property and across the road from you. Then see if you will have the same opinion. Because we have no say in where dual occupancies will be due to the fact that once a house is sold it may be sold to the developer who is intent on making all the large blocks( which is most of the blocks in Coldstream ) into dual occupancy. You are misinformed if you think the existing residents already living in Coldstream are themselves creating dual occupancy blocks. Wake up it is a developer changing the landscape of our home area.
