Federal Labor urges Victoria to tax the family home

Land tax would be levied on the family home under a proposal put forward by the Gillard Labor Government today.

Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan used a meeting of state and federal treasurers in Canberra to dodge responsibility for national tax reform, instead calling on states to abolish stamp duty, funded by increases in land tax."

Yes Mario, the ALP is serious about taxing the haves to give it away to the have nots.To bignote themselves to show how generous they are in the true spirit of the socialism for which they really represent. People do forget the ALP is run by hardline unionists who grew powerful during a period when employers were stupid by mistreating their workers or not paying them a living wage. During the 1950's they got very close to the Russian & Chinese Communists, some of you might recall Bill Hartley, Laurie Carmichael, Jack Mundie to name a few. Anyway as time went on the Russian ideal broke up and the Chinese ideal is working for some. When Gough Whitlam came in 1972 he bignoted himself by giving women in the clothing and footwear industry full pay and he also dropped tariff on the industry and with 3 years most factories had closed and all those women on equal pay.LOST THEIR JOBS. Inflation soared and interest rates hit 26% and the Tramways Union caused a political murder to happen.Under Paul Keating they hit 19% causing Pyramid,Estate Mortgages and others to go broke. Since those days the ALP has learned a great deal on how to steal more from the haves to give to the have nots. The GFC presented an extremely great opportunity to 'steal' by creating a contingent liability on every asset holder or income earner by creating a huge deficit to give away $billions to their voters and supporters. The money has run out and its having problems funding the states and so they now need new taxes on the have nots hence the suggestion for state tax increases. The story continues and if the RBA decides that the Federal govt had no intention to reduce spending or excellarates spending..the RBA might decide that it might create inflation and therefore decide to INCREASE INTEREST RATES COSTS BACK UP 58% to what they were a year ago. Just a few days ago they were talking about reducing...but doubt it now...but i hope im wrong.

Somewhere in the Bible is says...the meek will inherite the earth...and even though Julia Gillard is an atheist she and the ALP have actually being doing just that...taking from the haves and giving it to the poor, the unemployable and the meek.

The Liberals are in danger of losing again in my opinion, but even if they win...guess who is going to be paying to reduce that deficit?

It wont be the poor, the infirm and the meek, it wont be those people living in Public housing who pay $83pw without paying for insurance, or rates...it will be ALL the landholders, ALL the business owners, ALL the homeowners, ALL the Superannuation holders, ALL the shareholders and ALL the TAXPAYERS.

The Liberals have also made several spending promises too but we need them to BREAK THOSE PROMISES if they wont change their minds before the election, we need ALL the taxpayers to DEMAND there favourite MP's to request they BREAK THOSE SPENDING PROMISES otherwise guess who will be paying ? play it again sam...

Does anyone know whether the State Govt pays any rates on those 65,000 or more public housing properties it owns?

Now imagine if the State Government where to raise the rents on all those public housing properties to cover the rates ? if we said very conservatively that each of those 65000 houses and units paid a very low average of $1000 each and rents where increased to cover that cost they could raise another $65,000,000 instead of increasing taxes on businesses and workers homes.

The Public Housing tenants get their FREE INCOME withhout having to work from the Federal Govt and if they evicted those in Richmond and others who sublet their cheap housing to others ...then others more deserving might be housed.
