WEST Maddingley near Bacchus Marsh has been earmarked for about $778 million in new homes.
Victorian Planning Minister Justin Madden last week fast-tracked the rezoning of 171ha of land from Farming Zone to Residential 1.
The area is between Griffith St/Balliang Rd and McCormacks Rd.
Up to 1400 residential lots are expected to cater for 4000 people, creating more than 1200 jobs over time.
