The review has put the final nail in the coffin of the Levy, slamming it, calling for its abolition and acknowledging the sensible link between tax and under-insurance.”
“The Victorian Government should drop the pretence of their policy review, take the advice of Australia’s economist-in-chief, and abolish this unfair tax immediately.”
"Farmers welcome the statement within the review that ‘there is no place for stamp duty in a modern Australian tax system’, however, we are concerned with the emphasis on land tax as a possible alternative."
