SUPER PAC FOR AUSTRALIA said...

NEWS FLASH...we just been advised that Eastern Health have decided to close down the very popular Surgical Wing at the Healesville Hospital with the reason offered that Healesville is not in a growth corridor.

This is what happens when successive Local & State Governments decide to freeze housing developments in the outlying Yarra Ranges area and might have been a reason for the closure of TAFE. Little by little services are closed and the FULL BLAME goes to the ANTI-DEVELOPMENT GROUPS.

Another reason for the closure is that the Lilydale Surgery is low on business and their thinking is that will make will make the Lilydale site busier which is not well used it seems, but no mention made that doctors dont like to visit the site and certainly not a good reason to shut down another wonderful service in Healesville with a loss of a number of jobs.

We should be encouraging Local & State Governments to decentralise, not centralise and congest the Lilydale main streets and parking.

I urge the community to make their opinions known about this important community service and for all Councillors to try to negotiate with Eastern Health to continue the facility which services the other reaches and towns such as Wesburn, Narbethong and beyond.

The creation of SUPER PAC FOR AUSTRALIA is based on the American system of creating POLICY ACTION COMMITTEES to research, examine, develope and lobby all Local, State & Federal politicians and their administration departments to rethink policy directions. We invite any interested parties to submit contributions in a non partisan way.

We can help government find ways of saving money on non beneficial programs to divert funds to more useful community programs.

One such proposal before State Government is to spend $billions of borrowed money to build another shipping Cargo port in Victoria which we are apposing as it benefits overseas exporters as Victoria is being used mainly as an importers port with full shipping containers coming in, but empty containers going back out to be refilled again.

We see no justification for the State of Victoria to waste $hundreds of Millions on interest costs on borrowing billions or offering govt gaurantees to the Ports & Habour Trust to undertake such developments of infrustructure for the benefit of importers and retailers.

In our opinion the savings could be better used for the benefit of our own citizens such as maintaining the Healesville Hospital Surgical Services.

All too often we have politicians saying maybe or yes to other business lobby groups who claim we need deeper ports, more infrustructure...but no-one bothers to ask who will be the main benefactors of our tax money. Surely our first priority is to our own people, our own manufacturers by reducing PAYROLL TAX, LESS RED & GREEN TAPE,- CERTAINLY NOT FOREIGHN MANUFACTUERS & EXPORTERS. Our import businesses should not be considered more worthy of priority assistance to be able to bring in more imports more efficiently but at a cost to our local employment and balance of payment deficit.
