What issue should the new Yarra Ranges Council prioritise? - Council - News - Lilydale & Yarra Valley Leader

My published comment:

"The previous council refused to change the UGB in the Shire especially around Coldstream. Our group COLDSTREAM 2020 made great inroads into changing the UGB around Coldstream and was supported by an official survey conducted by Jeanette McRae and the Shire, a survey by Christine Fyffe MP and our own survey.

I am hoping that this council will see the many benefits of expanding Coldstream with the Post office as its new centre."

SUPER PAC FOR AUSTRALIA said...

Yarra Ranges Shire should consider decentralising and building offices in Coldstream as a more central ocation to its shire on cheaper land and in a two storey building. Alternatively if they still think it a great idea to spend money on that stupid site on Anderson Road, then I suggest that there be a merger with Maroondah Shire and build an office to house both for a merged scaled down administration.

We cannnot see any justification to building up an empire to house the staff of administrators who are adequately housed already.

It is not the job of Local government to go against the policies of the RBA or try to stimulate building activity while most builder are going broke due to union excessive wage requirement.

Australia needs to prepare for a severe period of severe austerity which must start from the top down...remembering the ratepayers are the taxpayers supporting the CEO and his underlings.

Wake Up this is a serious business and whilst we realise no one wants to say it how it is and that politicians earn votes on what they can promise with other peoples money... true leaders can SAY NO.
