A facebook message from Fiona McAllister

Lots going on but 1 very important thing is the start of the Healesville Structure Plan development process. This plan will become the guide for future development, use, and amenity so it is critical you all have your say on what it should look like. there will be lots of consultation and the first discussion paper can be viewed at

In my opinion it is really time for all three tiers of government to really look at what the banks and insurance companies are already doing with backroom functions and sub them out overseas to other english speaking people in the sub continent at greatly reduced wages and oncosts as the nations few remaining taxpayers just cannot afford ever increasing taxes to fund govt inefficiencies.

Deliberately ignoring modern labour saving and cost cutting is negligence of the highest order by not only the politicians but the Department heads who get paid substantial sums to manager their departments.
I'm surprised that the Business Council has not raised this issue to date.

I'm also thinking that some councils should be amalgamating their rate collection and other backroom admin functions to save on labour costs and i'm also suggesting that instead of building office blocks for Councils & Shire which one day soon may be amalagamated into super councils it would be a good idea that they start sharing facilities and amalamating other functions by sharing building facilities now. BPAY and other digital media will soon mean noone will need to go visit council offices and staff could be working from hiome instead in the already outdated local area Empire buildings.
