THE task of rescuing large animals in catastrophic situations like Black Saturday will become safer for a Yarra Valley animal welfare group with the arrival of a specialised emergency response vehicle.
Animal Aid general manager Nell Thompson said the emergency response unit and rescue vehicle would help the Coldstream shelter transport companion animals, wildlife and livestock in times of disaster.
