UNDERSTANDING THE COMMUNITY SURVEY

As mentioned yesterday, a lot of people are confused abut the survey and I will attempt to explain what some of the questions mean.
Questions 1 , 2 & 3 relate to the PRESENT TOWNSHIP.
Questions 4 , 4a & 5 relate to the talk about the expansion of the township OUTSIDE the present township.
Questions 6 , 7 & 8 are general questions about you.

This question relates to the PRESENT TOWNSHIP (The ESTATE).
C97 is a Planning Amendment, that has not yet been passed and is still being discussed.
C97 relates to the whole Shire and not just Coldstream.
Part of C97 suggests that the minimum block size in the ESTATE be 1000 m2.
This would stop any dual occupancies in the ESTATE.

I hope this clarifies question 2 so that you can choose
o YES
o NO
o Don't Know.

This question  QU4 relates to the area OUTSIDE the ESTATE.
It is asking if you want COLDSTREAM EXPANDED and become a bigger township in area.
As you may know the COLDSTREAM  2020 group have been pushing for this for some time now.

This survey was a direct outcome from our meeting with the Shire officers including Cr Jeanette McRae.

Question 4a is miss-leading
IT SHOULD SAY>>>>>   IF NO, which area(s) etc...
Had I given out this survey, I would have added a map of the area around the ESTATE showing exactly where the BOUNDARY IS AT PRESENT!
I would have then asked you to indicate where you wanted Coldstream to expand by marking the map, provided you answered NO to question 4.

A map like the one shown below:

NOTE: the blue line with triangles is the present boundary or the ESTATE.
the pink area is Maroondah Hwy
the "greenish" area is the green wedge land (agricultural land).
