I have been a resident of Coldstream for over 35 years and have watched businesses come and go in our town (approx 15 in the last 5 years). Why don’t they stay? Because there is not the population here to support them. This is the first time Council have done something positive toward boosting the population.
As Mario says, council should be looking at expanding the UGB to accomodate a larger population.
Most residents would agree that we do not want to become part of Lilydale township but the town could easily double its size and still maintain its individual identity.
