COLDSTREAM-based animal welfare shelter, Animal Aid, is calling out to the community to become a 'friend of Animal Aid' by joining the all-new Monthly Donor Program.

For as little as $1 a day, supporters will be able to cover the costs in finding a home for a cat, and for a fraction more, finding a forever home for a dog.

Every dollar donated in the Monthly Donor Program will go directly towards maximising the opportunities for stray or abandoned domestic animals to be given a second chance to find a loving home.

As an open door shelter, Animal Aid is committed to providing a premier level of animal care and welfare to all four-legged domestic creatures that are brought to their shelters.

Companion animals offered for adoption at Animal Aid already have all the expensive veterinary work done.

They are assessed for their health and behaviour, de-sexed, micro-chipped, vaccinated and parasite free, with the additional bonus that you have ongoing back up and life-time support and a life has been saved.

Animal Aid manager Nell Thompson said it has been the generosity and support of thousands of Victorians that has kept Animal Aid alive for more than 60 years, but costs continue to increase and more financial challenges continue to face the animal shelter.

“We need Victoria's financial help in supporting our programs and services, so we can continue to grow and help these beautiful animals in need,” she said.

“The monthly donor program has been set up to give animal lovers the flexibility to choose a monthly donation that suits their budget and providing a predictable flow of funds that Animal Aid can rely on.
