JIM CHILD WRITES

At next Tuesday night's council meeting (13/12)Councillor Motions -
Cr Cox will move that Council:

1. Supports the retention of the Urban Growth Boundary without amendment.

2. Authorises officers to write to the Minister for Planning and all submitters advising them of this position.

COMMENT:  by Mario Galteri

The people of COLDSTREAM have "voted" to have the UGB expanded around Coldstream by an official shire survey conducted by Cr Jeanette McRae.
Is Cr Cox just going to ignore this and other surveys? (such as one by Christine Fyffe MP and our own initial survey)
Will Cr McRae support her own scientific survey?
The shire has engaged an external company to look at the UGB in the whole of the shire.  The report is almost finished.  Does Cr Cox suggest that we just pay for the work done and tear up the report?  More waste of time and money!

The council officers have also spent a lot of time looking at this issue.  I can see no reason for this to come to a COMPLETE STOP!

If you feel the same way please contact Jeanette McRae or your ward councilor.
