Raised eyebrows over new bylaws for Yarra Ranges

IF YOU plan on owning a goose, singing in public or being a car collector, you might find yourself in trouble with Yarra Ranges Council.

The council has just released a 77-page document for public comment on its proposed local laws.

And the proposed bylaws have been raising some eyebrows.
A person is allowed to own two guinea pigs, two ferrets and two domestic turtles or tortoises.

COMMENT: This is a DRAFT document and needs tweaking.  Would you like your neighbour keeping a rooster? or 20 geese?  Me thinks not!

To me the draft looks like a list of complaints the Shire has had to deal with over the past decade and has put them down on paper.

As I said, "it's a good start".
