VICTORIANS are being hit with fire services levy bills up to 400 per cent higher than 12 months ago.
The Herald Sun has seen the insurance bill for Reg Nicholson's Maldon home, which includes a $511.90 charge for the FSL - up from just $125.98 a year ago.

It should have gone up about 84% but if the homeowner had increased his cover and premium or reduced his excess that might explain the 400% hike. I'd like to see his new and old policy premium breakup before I'd jump to same conclusion the fictional news media organisations' word is believed.

At least the Libs have rectified the problem by changing the system so all property owners will pay and not just those with insurance cover. Afterall if your rich enough not to worry or pay for insurance if your house burns down, then you can afford to pay the new fire services levy on your rates.
