Mr Guy gave a sample of the barbs within when he responded to criticism of his planning laws by a Melbourne academic, labelling them "crap" and borne out of "professional jealously".
"This is typical, baseless and dated political ideology from a socialist predicting the end of the world, a Melbourne-based academic trying to tell country people how to live their lives."
